We collect this data to enable features such as finding events near you and connecting with friends in your area. Location sharing is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time through your device settings or app preferences.

SMS and Text Messaging

Contact Invitation Messages

Bramble provides a feature that allows users to invite friends to join the app via SMS text messages. Here's how this works:

Data Collection: When you use our contact invitation feature, you grant us temporary access to your device's contact list to display your contacts within the app. We only permanently store the phone numbers of contacts you specifically choose to invite.

Message Sending: We use Twilio, a third-party SMS service provider, to send one-time invitation messages to the phone numbers you select. These are transactional invitation messages, not marketing communications.

One-Time Messages: We send only one invitation message per contact per user. We do not send follow-up messages or recurring communications unless the invited person explicitly opts in to receive further communications by joining our app.

Opt-Out Options: All invitation messages include clear opt-out instructions. Recipients can reply "STOP" to immediately opt out of receiving any future invitation messages from our platform.

SMS Data Non-Sharing: We will not share your opt-in to SMS communications with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with our invitation services. We may share your personal data, including your SMS opt-in status, with our SMS service provider (Twilio) and other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages solely for the purpose of providing our messaging services.

No Marketing Messages: Invitation messages are not promotional or marketing messages. They are transactional messages sent on behalf of existing users to help them connect with friends.

User-Generated Content

When you use Bramble, you may create and share content such as event listings, descriptions, photos, and chat messages ("User Content"). Here is how we handle that data:

  • Storage: User Content is stored securely on our servers and is accessible to other Bramble users in accordance with the visibility settings of the event or space where it is posted (e.g., public events vs. private friend groups).
  • Retention: User Content is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your content will be removed within a reasonable timeframe. Content that has been reported and is under active moderation review may be retained longer as required.
  • Third-Party Visibility: Content you post in public events or community spaces may be visible to other Bramble users. We do not sell your User Content to third parties.
  • Removal: You may delete your own User Content at any time within the app. Bramble also reserves the right to remove any User Content that violates our Terms of Service.

Moderation and Safety Data

To maintain a safe and welcoming environment, Bramble collects and processes certain data related to content moderation:

  • Content Reports: When you report content or a user, we collect the details of the report — including the content in question, the identity of the reporting user, and any notes provided. This information is used solely for moderation purposes.
  • User Blocks: When you block another user, that action is recorded to enforce the block across the platform and to notify our moderation team for review. Blocked users' content is removed from your feed immediately upon blocking.
  • Moderation Actions: If your content is removed or your account is suspended or terminated due to a policy violation, a record of that action is retained to maintain platform safety and prevent circumvention of our community standards.

This moderation data is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties except as required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
